“In other times the wind was a person. It converted into a being with feathers, and flew, because it could not be as before; as a result it flew, and inhabited the mountain. In other times it was a person; that is why it used to roll a ball; it would toss it, because it felt it was a person. It converted into a being with feathers, and then it flew, and inhabited a grotto in the mountain. It exits, flies, and returns to its home. It goes to sleep in it, wakes up early and exits; flies afar; again, flies afar. It returns to its house because it feels like it has to find a livelihood. Like another time, and another, and another; returns home; again, it comes back to sleep.” (Blaise Cendrars, Black Anthology, 1921).
