Vivian Suter (Buenos Aires, 1949) is a painter based in Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. She has participated in documenta14 in Athens, Greece and Kassel, Germany; the 11th Taipei Biennial at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Taiwan; Desert X 2021, Coachella Valley, California; 31° Bienal de São Paulo, Brazil and the 14th Gwangju Biennale (South Korea). She has had solo shows in Vienna Secession, Vienna; Kunstmuseum Basel, Basel; Kunstmuseum Luzern, Luzern; Palacio de Velázquez at Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid; Vleeshall Center for the Arts, Vleeshall, Netherlands; Brücke Museum, Berlin; Tate, Liverpool; Camden Art Centre, London; MUDAM Luxembourg, Luxemburg; The Art Institute, Chicago; The Power Plant, Toronto; Museo El Eco, Mexico City; The Jewish Museum, NY; Kunsthalle Basel, Basel; The Mistake Room, Los Angeles. Her upcoming solo shows include Vienna Secession, Vienna; GeMAC, Bergamo; and MALBA, Buenos Aires, amongst others.

In 2021, she was awarded the Prix Meret Oppenheim / Swiss Grand Award for Art. Her work is in the permanent collections including Tate, UK; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, NY; The Art Institute, Chicago; MCA Chicago, Chicago; The Jewish Museum, NY; MoMA Warsaw, Warsaw; cNAP, France; MUDAM Luxembourg, Luxemburg; Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid, and others.
