Radamés “Juni” Figueroa (San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1982). Lives and works in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He obtained his BFA at the San Juan School of Plastic Arts and in 2013 he completed the La Practica, Beta Local Program in San Juan. His work transits the idea of ​​inhabiting the tropics through the creation of spaces that seek the interaction of spectators with artistic practice. His projects use various media such as installations, ready mades, painting and drawing. In addition to his work as an artist, he is co-founder and co-curator of the First and Second Tropical Biennials in Puerto Rico in 2012 and 2016. In 2018 he participated in the SiteLines Biennial of SITE Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA; in 2017 he participated in En Plein Air at The High Line Art, NY, USA; and in 2014 he was a participating artist at The Whitney Biennial (NY, USA) and held the solo exhibition Naguabo Rainbow, Daguao Enchumbao, Fango Fireflies at the SculptureCenter (NY, USA). He recently received the Illy Present Future award for the best artist under 40 years old at the Artissima fair in Turin, Italy, with which he will have a solo exhibition in a museum in the Piedmont region in 2021.
