Solo Exhibition
Section “ARTBO 2016 Projects” curated by Jens Hoffman
Booth B17
Bogota, Colombia

Akira Ikezoe (Japan, 1979) lives and works in New York. He got a B.A. at Tama Art University in Tokyo. Ikezoe’s work covers several disciplines, including drawing, painting, video and performance. As a good Japanese, his work fuses ancient animism and the latest technologies. His human figures are presented as his alter ego and interwoven in a metaphysical and mythological context, which represents a point of timeless fusion between human and natural limits.

Through his work he narrates a series of daily, idiosyncratic and implausible situations, which make us question the almost automatic and systematized way in which we operate in today’s western societies.
