For CONDO2, Proyectos Ultravioleta of Guatemala City and greengrassi of London come together to consider the affective and physical architectures humans build around themselves in a show titled These Architectures We Make. The exhibition asks about the relationship between building and protecting, between the human and the inhuman, and how our energy for building things often surpasses our energy for caretaking. The exhibition includes artists Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa, Johanna Unzueta, Giuseppe Gabellone, Elisabeth Wild, Karin Ruggaber and Felipe Mujica, and it includes introspective and humorous approaches to the buildings and spaces humans inhabit. By looking under the surfaces of these structures, These Architectures We Makeproposes that we can find the humanity, the potential, buried in the optimism that built them.
