An exhibition and magic-religious celebration to get rid of  impurities and cast away from us all kinds of evil.

December 7th, 2011

Proyectos Ultravioleta presents an exhibition of its gallery friend Diablo Rosso (Panama City); that with the occasion of the ‘quema del diablo’ (burning of the devil – Guatemalan ritual to ward off evil and purify the spirit by burning old belongings) proposes a series of works that approach ideas about good, evil, divine and pagan.

Human beings are born with the possibility of harboring in our interior all feelings – positive and negative – that are naturally inherent to us. If everything negative could be cleansed with the simple performance of a rite, the human being would no longer be human, it would be God! That which transmutes matter into something magical is the intention with which faith uses energy; hence, works by artists who reflect on the power of intention and the possibilities of the subject to carry out those intentions have been selected. In addition, the notions of divine and pagan are evaluated and the idea of purification is celebrated to finish the year renewed and with a clean soul.
